The driver started on Monday, and on Tuesday, we assigned him a load going towards his house, because he requested to return home to collect personal items such as sheets and blankets. After picking up the load, he drove for just 2 hours and missed his very first delivery appointment. He also informed us of damage to the truck that happened at the shipper, which I have yet to assess for severity.
The delivery was rescheduled for the following morning and after that the driver returned home to retrieve his belongings with the intention of picking up another load on the same day, which he confirmed. However, as the appointment time for the new load approached, he ceased answering his phone, and his work phone was switched off.
This situation has left me with the challenging task of recovering the truck from North Carolina.
