Prioritizing mental health on the road

From what I’ve seen, focusing on mental health is key for safety. At my company, once we started regular mental health check-ins, we actually saw a 20% drop in close calls and minor incidents. It’s clear that keeping our minds sharp helps keep us safe on the roads.

I can personally vouch for the benefits of mental health support. There was a time when I was going through a rough patch, and having access to counseling through work made a huge difference. It helped me feel more grounded and enthusiastic about my job again, which definitely reflected in my driving and my attitude at work.

Making mental health a priority has opened up the lines of communication among us drivers. At my company, they started a peer support group, and it’s been great. Sharing our experiences and coping methods has brought us closer together, creating a more supportive and understanding environment. It feels safer knowing you’re not alone and can talk openly about what you’re going through
