Nebula Thursday at 04:14 PM Share Thursday at 04:14 PM I’ve completed my annual inspection, but brokers are saying I don’t have an inspection on file. I called a DOT office to get another inspection, but they told me I don’t need one and won’t be entered into the system unless I’m pulled over. I’m in Florida does anyone know if this is accurate? Whisper3r Thursday at 04:37 PM Share Thursday at 04:37 PM An annual inspection is not the same as a DOT inspection. DOT inspections are performed by a DOT officer or Highway Patrol. You can go to a weigh station and request a voluntary inspection. Just make sure everything with your truck, trailer, and paperwork is in order, as they can put you out of service if something’s wrong.
Solare Thursday at 04:49 PM Share Thursday at 04:49 PM If you’re up for a road trip, head to Montana or Wyoming! They’ll definitely pull you into the weigh station, 100% guaranteed!
Blaze Thursday at 05:01 PM Share Thursday at 05:01 PM I don’t recommend specifically asking for an inspection sometimes you might get an officer in a bad mood. If you have an electronic scale pass, try removing the batteries unless you’re on a toll road; this will require you to stop at each open scale. You’ll likely get a Level 2 or 3 inspection soon. Also, inspection blitzes are common in May, and states like Washington, Virginia, North Carolina, and California often perform Level 3 inspections.
